I should make it clear that "The Snapper" made me cringe. So it comes as no surprise that "The Van," also based on the work of Irish novelist Roddy Doyle, rubbed me the wrong way from start to finish. Two unemployed Irishmen refurbish a vending van and set about selling chips, fish and burgers to hungry customers on the outskirts of Dublin. Their friendship is sorely tested, as is our patience.
