Blake (Robert Downey Jr.) is a charmer, a peripatetic actor on his way back from an out-of-town gig. He's also, it turns out, a liar, as the two women waiting to surprise him outside his SoHo loft discover: for the past ten months he's been professing singular devotion - to both of them. So they set an ambush. A nimble Lou (Natasha Gregson Wagner) climbs up the fire escape, breaks open a window and buzzes Carla (Heather Graham) in. When Blake comes home, the dynamics between the three morph from fury to humor to seduction, as Blake reveals just how slippery a character he is, while Natasha and Lou expose a few shockers of their own. It's a fascinating arc to watch, except for one thought that kept looping through my brain: Why don't they just kill the bastard?!!
