Directed by Robert Bierman and starring Richard Grant and Helena Bonham Carter, Keep the Aspidistra Flying is based on the Orwell novel I remember enjoying years ago. I like both actors very much and while the self degradation that the Cronkite character puts himself through is a bit predictable and difficult to fathom, it kept my interest and had its moments. At only an hour and a half in length (are you picking up how I love films that are under two hours) it has some great scenery, good period cars and costumes and the actors were clearly having fun. I have no idea if the film was for sale here, released in England and not in the states or what, but if you get a chance its worth a look.
