Costner plays Roy "Tin Cup" McAvoy, a Picasso with a wedge and General Custer when the odds are long and a difficult shot can be transformed into an impossible one. Coming off the epic "Waterworld," Costner re-teams with Ron Shelton, for whom he previously starred in "Bull Durham." Costner has also recently starred in "A Perfect World" with Clint Eastwood and in the title role of Lawrence Kasdan's "Wyatt Earp." The Oscar-winning producer-director and star of "Dances With Wolves" recently produced and hosted the television mini-series "500 Nations." His other major film roles include "Field of Dreams," "The Untouchables," "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves," "JFK" and "The Bodyguard."

Rene Russo plays Dr. Molly Griswold, a neophyte psychologist who believes she can help Roy get his game together -- until she learns that the aim of his "game" is getting together with her. Russo can currently be seen starring in "Get Shorty" with Danny DeVito and John Travolta, after starring with Dustin Hoffman and Morgan Freeman in the box-office hit "Outbreak." She has also starred in "Lethal Weapon 3," "In the Line of Fire" and "Major League."

Don Johnson stars as Tin Cup's longtime rival, David Simms, a PGA hotshot who represents everything Tin Cup detests -- including, perhaps, success. Johnson gained fame on television's "Miami Vice" and has starred in the features "Born Yesterday" and "Guilty As Sin." Among his other films are "The Hot Spot," "Dead-Bang," "Sweethearts Dance" and "Paradise." Johnson also currently stars in the title role of the new television series "Nash Bridges."

Cheech Marin stars as Romeo Posar, caddie, yes-man and guru to Tin Cup. Marin who starred in a series of movies with former comedy partner Tommy Chong, recently completed filming "The Great White Hype" (co-written by Ron Shelton) and co-starred in the 1995 release "Desperado." His other credits include "Born in East L.A." and Martin Scorsese's "After Hours."

Linda Hart co-stars as Doreen, proprietor of The Golden Tassell, Tin Cup's ex- girlfriend and new owner of his driving range. Hart recently completed filming "Get Shorty" with Rene Russo and previously appeared in "A Perfect World" with Kevin Costner.

Director Ron Shelton received critical praise for "Cobb," starring Tommy Lee Jones and Robert WuhI, which he directed from his original script. He also wrote and directed "Bull Durham" (receiving a Best Original Screenplay Oscar nomination) , as well as the comedy hit "White Men Can't Jump" and the bawdy, biographical "Blaze.

Producer Gary Foster's initial venture through his Gary Foster Productions was the 1993 blockbuster comedy "Sleepless in Seattle," starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. Foster's other credits as producer include "The Amazing Panda Adventure," "Just Cause," "Short Circuit," "Short Circuit 2," "Loverboy" and "Big Bully." His next project will be the drama "Desperate Measures," directed by Barbet Schroeder.

Producer David Lester began his association with Shelton on "Bull Durham" and also worked with him on "Blaze" and "White Men Can't Jump." He has served as producer of "Sibling Rivalry," co-producer of "Lord of the Flies" and executive producer of "The Shawshank Redemption," all for Castle Rock Entertainment. Among Lester's credits as production manager are "In the Line of Fire," "Broadcast News" and "Gardens of Stone."
