Also known as: Goliath bird-eating spider or Amazon bird-eating spider.
A dozen female spiders were used to play Myteka. Largest spider in the world.
The life span of this species is 25-30 years. Eats 2 small mice per week.
Poisonous & has 2-1/2" long fangs. Lives on the ground. Blow-dryers
were used to motivate the spiders because they don't like moving air. The
trainer also used small artists' paintbrushes to lightly touch the spiders'
legs to get them to move.
