Set in Iran, Samira Makhmalbaf's film "Takhte Siah" follows a group of teachers who, after a bombing in the Iranian Kurdistan, wander from one city to the next in search of students they can teach. Along the way they encounter many people of various ages and walks of life in an against-all-odds effort to help and share knowledge with anyone who is willing to learn.
