In Aoyama Shinji's "Eureka" a bus is hijacked on a hot summer day in Japan. In the aftermath of the hijacking, only the driver and a young brother and sister survive. The distraught bus driver leaves town and the children go about their lives until two years later when both of their parents die. The bus driver returns to town and takes care of the children. When a dead body is discovered and the bus driver is suspected of murder, he buys an old bus, puts some beds in it and takes the children on a journey.
