1 - The 96 MIF Guide

Veritable "bible" of the cinema world, the 96 MIF Guide gives all information about companies, their projects and their film catalogues. You will also find the position and the photo of each participant, with a distinction for buyers and also the synopsis of all films. Special cross-indexes will help you to find the information which you are looking for quickly.

We will also give you a pocket guide of the companies with a general map of stands and offices (Palais, Parvis, hotels and Croisette).
In order that your company be accurately presented in the 96 MIF Guide, we ask you to fill out carefully the attached registration forms and to return the same to us to arrive imperatively before 4 April, after which date we cannot guarantee your inclusion in the Guide.

2 - A single and simplified MIF and FIF registration

One single document will now enable you to register all members of your company both for the MIF and the Festival - as a professional registered at the MIF, you will automatically be registered by us at the Festival through the professional organization to which you belong. It is through this organization (generally Unifrance) that you can obtain your places for the official screenings in Cannes, following the usual procedure.

In April, we will send you all useful documentation for your arrival in Cannes, your invitation to the opening MIF cocktail party, as well as an advance program of the events and screenings at the Marché.

We invite you to register all your colleagues at the Marché International du Film : they will all be listed in the Guide and, upon your arrival, one of your number can collect all MIF-Festival Badges and kits for the entire company directly from the VIP desk.

3 - MIF-Line: the Cannes addresses and phone numbers of all participants.

We keep the Cannes addresses of all participants up-dated daily. Thanks to your confidential code, a simple telephone call to our MIF-Line service will give you exclusive access to this database.

Our hostesses can also help with specific services, such as the distribution of invitations for the events which you organize or the publishing of lists and personalized diskettes (see note 1).

4 - Access to screenings

You will be informed in advance of all professional screenings at Cannes, both in the MIF screening rooms and at the Star and Olympia cinemas.

Your Badge will give you priority access to all Marché screenings and will enable you to get priority invitations for the screenings of the other sections besides the Official Selection : Un Certain Regard, Quinzaine des Réalisateurs (Directors Fortnight), Semaine de la Critique (Critics Week), and Cinéma en France.

5 - Screening reservations

This year, the MIF puts 22 screening rooms at your disposal, 4 of which have been newly equipped with Dolby. We are also offering new time slots (please refer to the SCREENING RESERVATIONS form).

In certain screening rooms, we can supply a list of the people present at your projection .

We can also offer a simultaneous translation service of the film at the auditorium K (Jean-Louis Bory) (see note 1).

One of our two video rooms is now equipped with Beta SP.

We can organize cocktail parties for you at the end of your screenings, especially at the cinema "Les Ambassades" where there is a large reception area .

There are also possibilities for screening at both the Olympia and Star cinemas.

6 - Business Center at the Palais

The entirely new decoration and establishment of the Palais and Parvis stands enable us to offer an alternative to that of hotels and apartments.

This year the Parvis has a direct entrance on the Beach side (towards Ia Croisette); the sign-posting has been improved and entrances are clearly marked.

We are putting an "office facility" at your disposal where you will find a photocopier, a fax, a minitel, a personal computer, access to Internet, and a printer (see note 1).

This year you may have a micro-stand in the Palais: a 5 square meter office with a bilingual hostess, a telephone, a fax and a screening room for 8,000 FRF plus VAT. You will find details of this offer on the "STANDS" form.

7 - Advertising

Back up your registration in the 96 MIF Guide with a page of advertising in four-color printing at the exceptional launching price of 10,000 FRF plus VAT. And in appreciation of your trust, we will maintain this price for you in 97 and 98. If you send us your order quickly, we will be able to allocate a page to you opposite your entry in the Guide.

We have also created new sign-posts on the Parvis and in the Palais. You will find details of these offers on the "ADVERTISING" form.

8 - Simplified rates

With a one-price registration fee of 3,300 FRF plus VAT for 3 people, the 96 MIF is one of the least expensive markets in its category. The registration fee for each additional person is 900 FRF plus VAT. The registration of films is now free.

9 - And still more to offer

We are presently developing other new services which will be pleasant surprises at your next MIF and which we will inform you of next April.
