2010 Festroia International Film Festival Diaries
Conclusion: The Awards

by Henri Béhar

SETUBAL, PORTUGAL, June 13, 2010 – Last night, at the end of an unusually fast-paced ceremony that saw a flurry of awards given away by seven juries (one per section), A Somewhat Gentle Man" clearly emerged as the winner of this 26th International Festival of Cinema in Setubal. (Herebelow, the complete list of the winners.). A little too clearly, perhaps, as Hans Petter Moland's film got the three top awards. The same thing happened with Joel Coen's Barton Fink at the 1991 Cannes Film Festival. The following year, the Cannes honchos amended the Festival charter, limiting to two the number of so-called "major" awards a single film could get. Festroia might want to do the same from 2011 onward.

And the winners Are...
